Placing Misplaced Pets, Inc. is a nonprofit 501c3 (ID# 27-5234403) organization based in Pasco County, Florida. Our mission is to rescue, care for, socialize and adopt out (whenever possible) abandoned, lost or stray cats  and dogs in need of loving homes. We work with primarily high kill shelters to save the lives of pets that might not necessarily be adopted or even worse, euthanized.

We are dedicated to promoting the spaying or neutering of all pets while providing the best medical and nutritional care available. All animals receive a complete health exam by veterinarians and are spayed or neutered and vaccinated before they are adopted.  We are also animal advocates and practice T.N.R. (Trap, Neuter and Release) of feral cats, to help prevent thousands of unwanted kittens to be born.

We believe that every animal deserves to be treated with respect and compassion.  Our mission is to save as many lives as we can, as well as educate the public.

Please know, although we would love to take in every homeless animal, time and money prevents us. Please do not call us to take in animals. At this time, we are FULL.  If you e-mail a picture and brief description of a pet that you need to re-home, we will cross-post and share with other rescues in hopes of finding a new home.

If there is a particular animal that you would like to meet, please Let Us Know

 We Need Foster Parents!

Are you looking for a furry friend to love, but may not be able to commit to a permanent home? We need Foster Parents who can give a cat or dog a home and love until an adoptive parent can be found. Foster parent responsibilities include:

  • Providing care and affection for your foster cat;
  • Petting and playing with your foster cat so that he/she is well socialized when it’s time to move to its forever-home;
  • It’s helpful if you can transport the foster animal to vet appointments as scheduled and provide updates on their progress;
  • Help make the animal available for adoptions at events.

If you think you can help a furry friend by providing a temporary home, please contact us at: placingmisplacedpets@gmail.com

Happy Endings
